How to Find Us
All visitors to Eddington are encouraged to cycle, walk or to use public transport.
Cycling
Eddington is a 15 minute cycle from the centre of Cambridge and has plenty of cycle parking. The Ridgeway is a cycle and pedestrian path running through Eddington connecting to Storey’s Way and Huntingdon Road and is supported by an extensive network of cycle and pedestrian routes. You can plan your cycle route on Cycle Streets, choosing the quietest or quickest route to suit.
Bus
Eddington is on the Universal Bus U1 and U2 routes, with the last bus departing from outside the Centre at 10.24pm Mondays-Saturdays, and 7.50pm Sundays. More info on the Universal Bus (including fare information and full timetable) can be found on the Whippet website.
You can also use the Stagecoach 4 and Whippet X3 buses from Madingley Road, the Madingley Road Park and Ride, and the Stagecoach 5 and Stagecoach 6 buses from Huntingdon Road.
Car
Eddington has been designed with sustainability in mind and as a result there is limited parking on site for residents and visitors to Eddington. A Travel Plan has been agreed and approved by local authorities and the University in consultation with travel groups and the wider community.
Sustainable travel is a large part of the Eddington Travel Plan so there is the dedicated U1 and U2 Buses (subsidised for University staff), extensive cycling and walking routes and provisions, and car club vehicles available. The final part of Eddington’s Travel Plan is the Car Parking Management Plan, which lays out the parking policies and procedures at Eddington. These apply to all drivers and are not targeted at any particular group. They are essential for managing traffic at Eddington and ensuring the safety of cyclists and pedestrians, including residents, school pupils, visitors, and other members of the public.
We encourage visitors to avoid travelling by car to Storey’s Field Centre where possible as there is limited parking available. We advise anyone driving to the Centre to park at Madingley Road Park and Ride, which is free (for up to 18 hours) and – using the new footpath in the north east of the car park – only a 5-10 minute walk away.
Parking charges in Eddington apply 8am-6pm Monday to Friday (including public holidays) and 10am-5pm Saturday to Sunday (including public holidays). The majority of spaces have a maximum stay of 2 hours and no return within 1 hour, there are some spaces on site with a maximum stay of 4 hours. There is free disabled parking on site for Blue Badge holders (please note time restraints still apply). Drivers must register for parking using on-street terminals or JustPark app.
