Tom Robinson Band – Rescheduled

Saturday 15th May
7:00 pm – 11:00 pm

This event has been rescheduled from 15th May 2020. All tickets remain valid. If you are unable to attend the new date, refunds are available from point of purchase.

Plans to mark his 70th birthday with a major UK band tour have been scuppered – like so much else – by the Covid-19 crisis. Undeterred the veteran songwriter and broadcaster has simply moved the whole tour back by 12 months to celebrate turning 71 instead. We hope you can join us for the new event in 2021. Original tickets will be valid.

Tom’s musical journey began in 1974 when his first band was discovered by Ray Davies, and has since included a BBC ban for being Glad To be Gay, rocking against racism alongside The Clash, headlining Glastonbury with Peter Gabriel, writing lyrics for Elton John, drug smuggling in East Germany, two nervous breakdowns and a period in tabloid hell after falling in love with a woman. Having made his peace with the BBC, he’s presented programmes on all the corporation’s national radio networks, and his broadcasting work has won two Sony Radio Academy awards.

Alongside crowd favourites like War Baby, Glad To Be Gay and 2-4-6-8 Motorway expect to hear the stories behind some of the songs – plus a wide range of gems from Tom’s back catalogue across the past four decades.
