Wittgenstein Abecedarian Film Screening
Sunday 26th April
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
After producing over three hundred media works on education and teaching – films, radio programs, multimedia software, web sites, e-books, etc. – Jeffrey Hall left New York to go on the road as an itinerant film-maker; moving every month or so, shooting a different film in each country he visited.
Jeffrey visited the graveyard where Ludwig Wittgenstein, a philosopher he had studied in college, is buried and went back to Cambridge a week later, and began to shoot a film there. At the time, Jeffrey didn’t know that he would spend the next 18 months researching, shooting and editing the film, and didn’t even know if it would be about Wittgenstein, his philosophy, the graveyard itself, the stone carver whose workshop is just steps from the grave, or the people from all over the world who make a pilgrimage to Wittgenstein’s grave.
It’s turned out to be about all of these things.
