ETO Workshop: I Have a Song to Sing O!
Saturday 2nd November
11:00 am – 1:00 pm
This Autumn English Touring Opera, in partnership with D’Oyly Carte Opera Trust, is bringing back its workshops for teenagers and young adults, introducing the world of Gilbert and Sullivan, and focusing on vocal technique, acting, dialogue, comic timing and patter. The sessions will also look at pathways into the profession.
Renowned mezzo-soprano Gaynor Keeble and our Associate Artist (Education), Bradley Travis lead the workshops. Bradley took the role Bunthorne in ETO’s acclaimed Patience in 2017, and Gaynor has sung principal roles for almost all of the UK’s leading opera companies, including several years with D’Oyly Carte Opera Trust.
The workshops are pitched for young singers (aged approximately 15-30) of all abilities, and will be fun, inspiring and insightful.
The workshops are entirely free, and there are complementary packs for all participants. The music and text that will be worked on in the sessions will be available in advance via the website.
Recommended for ages 15-30
