2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Scratch is a visual, child-friendly programming tool that allows you to learn basic programming skills without having to type in any code. You can create games and animations, while learning how to control objects using just a drag-and-drop interface.
May 11 was global Scratch Day this year. In order to celebrate all things Scratch, FOCUS PTA, Mr Drane and Miss Glenister (the school’s computing lead), are organising a Scratch coding session.
The coding session is mainly aimed at children in Years 2-5, however siblings and keen young programmers are welcome too. The event is open to the community so please spread the word. Children must be accompanied by an adult/carer at all times during the event. The session starts at 2pm but you don’t have to stay until the end.
We will be working with the online version of Scratch3. We would be grateful if you could bring your own laptop or tablet to the event although we will have some available on the day.
All ages welcome
