Indus Festival: Songs of the Mystics

Qawal Najmuddin Saifuddin trace their family lineage back to the 13th century, and today are considered leading singers of the Sufi Qawwali tradition. Their songs are thousands of years old and represent a mystic poetry that has been passed from generation to generation, hence them being known as Songs of the Mystics.
The Qawwali repertoire features pieces in a number of different languages, with the classical period mostly focused on works in North Indian dialects like Brajbhasha and Awadhi.
