Indus Festival: Khyal Vocal and Gems From Bengal

Sunday 17th March
3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Sanjukta Mitra began her musical journey at age 8, studying North Indian classical music under Mrs Seema Ghosh.

Upon graduating with a distinction, Mitra began training under eminent Guru, Pt. Santanu Bandyopadhyay of Vishnupur Gharana.

Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed and the Chorus of Anandadhara Arts present Hindustani, Bengali and Carnatic music. His students have performed Tagore songs that had previously never been performed in chorus in Britain, adding subtle new twists and flavours. The students were conducted by Dr. Ahmed – an exponent of Tagore and a guru of Anandadhara Arts.

Part of the Indus Festival, presented by Indus Music and supported by the SAMA Arts Network and Arts Council England.
