Indus Festival: Indian Classical Music

Friday 1st March
7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

We open the Indus Festival with the Indian classical music courtesy of the flute and sitar duo of Nitin Amin and Jonathan Mayer.

Nitin Amin is a progressive flautist from Pune, India with a background in Hindustani or Northern Indian classical. His own design of bamboo flute allows him to push the limits of the Gayaki (vocal) flute style.

Jonathan Mayer began his musical journey at age 5 on violin and piano, before coming under the tutelage of Western sitarist Clem Alford.

Part of the Indus Festival, presented by Indus Music and supported by the SAMA Arts Network and Arts Council England.
