Cambridge Youth Opera – Making Magic SOLD OUT

Sunday 24th March
7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Join Cambridge Youth Opera (CYO) for an enchanting performance of scenes from magical operas from The Magic Flute to Hansel and Gretel. Be prepared to be transported to a wonderful world of strange fairies, wicked witches, lost lovers, naughty children and brilliant birds. Music includes works by Rimsky-Korsakov, Weber, Purcell, Mozart and Humperdinck.

This performance is suitable for all ages and is a wonderful introduction to the world of opera and the work of CYO.

CYO broadens the creative horizons of young people through opera. We work with young people to create age appropriate productions to the highest possible standard. Our activities include everything that goes to make up an opera, on stage and backstage. Many of the young people who take part have never experienced opera before.

Our easily accessible, exciting activities open up what is often considered an exclusive art form, cultivate the arts as a natural part of daily life, and grow the confidence of our participants. We believe that opera is ideal for this, as it encompasses such a variety of elements and the opportunity to thrill, move and amuse both participants and audiences.

We are an open access, community organisation. We do not charge for participation.
